THIS KILLER MUST BE STOPPED NOW!

We must do everything in our power to make the DVA recognize that our veterans are still paying a high price for fighting the WAR in VIETNAM. AGENT ORANGE is slowly taking the lives of these brave veterans. The DVA does recognize some diseases but the rules that are laid out to enable the veterans to become service connected because of it are ridiculous. As with the case of ACUTE and SUB ACUTE PERIPHERAL NEUROPATHY. The DVA only recognized this disorder as being caused by exposure to AGENT ORANGE in APRIL of 1995. To be service connected for this disorder you must have filed with the DVA within ONE YEAR of exposure or within ONE YEAR of discharge from the military. If you have this disorder how could you have possibly have filed for something within that time frame if the DVA didn't even recognize the disorder until APRIL of 1995? THERE IS SOMETHING WRONG HERE!!

The DVA is making our brave men and women fight another war. But this is a war that we WILL WIN. We MUST not and WILL not give up. THE DVA is just waiting until all the veterans who fought in VIETNAM are gone, then and only then will they admit that AGENT ORANGE was the cause of so many illnesses. Why is this do you ask? I'll tell you why, the only reason is MONEY! They are afraid of having to deal with the families of all these veterans. It's not just the Vietnam veterans who are paying this high price. The DVA is doing the same to our Persian Gulf Veterans. We must put a stop to this national tragedy. We must get the DVA to recognize and treat our veterans for the illnesses connected to this poison.

Agent Orange Facts:
Agent Orange was a herbicide developed for military use. Chemically, the product was a
50/50 mix of two herbicides, 2,4,-D (2,4, dichlorophenoxyacetic acid) and 2,4,5-T (2,4,5 trichlorophenoxyacetic acid).
Developed as weed killers in the 1940's, and were effective against broad leaf plants and several crops.

AO was deployed in enemy areas to deny cover and concealment to the enemy. In dense
terrain particularly, the use of herbicides to destroy covering vegetation was to protect American
and allied troops from ambush.

Agent Orange, use tests were carried out at Fort Detrick, Maryland,
Eglin Air Force Base in Florida, and Camp Drum in New York as well as Thailand in the early 1960's.

The name AO = the orange identifying bands that were used on the55 gallon drums.
Other herbicides by color coded names too, such Agent White, Agent
Blue, Agent Purple, Agent Pink and Agent Green were also used.

PURPLE: A formulation of 2,4,-D and 2,4,5,-T used between 1962 and 1964.

GREEN: Contained 2,4,5-T and was used 1962-1964.

PINK: Contained 2,4,5-T and was used 1962-1964.

ORANGE: A formulation of 2,4,-D and 2,4,5-T used between 1965 and 1970.

WHITE: A formulation of Picloram and 2,4,-D.

BLUE: Contained cacodylic acid.

ORANGE II: A formualtion of 2,4,-D and 2,4,5-T used in 1968 and 1969
(also sometimes referred to as "Super Orange")

DINOXOL: A formulation of 2,4,-D and 2,4,,5-T. Small quantities
were tested in Vietnam between 1962 and 1964.

TRINOXOL: Contained 2,4,5-T. Small quantities tested in Vietnam 1962-1964.

BROMACIL
DIQUAT:
TANDEX:
MONURON:
DIURON:
DALAPON:
Small quantities of all of the above were tested in Vietnam, 1962-1964.

And....there were the "home brews" of ao .... undocumented.

Heavily sprayed areas included inland forests near the dmz; inland forests near the borders of
Cambodia,
Laos,
South Vietnam;
north and northwest of Saigon
as well asthe southernmost peninsula of Vienam and forests along
any major shipping channels southeast of Saigon. Missions were aimed at
northern and eastern central areas of South Vietnam.

There is no such thing as an Agent Orange Test.

The Agent Orange screening physical given at VA Medical Centers is nothing more that a
general physical which includes examination, X-rays and blood work. It does not detect Agent Orange
exposure, and guess what Col.... the VA does keep these results in a registry.

Dioxin analysis are sophisticated tests which will measure dioxin levels in
both blood and fatty tissues. These tests are research-oriented only, and have never
been available on a large-scale or clinical basis. The VA does not perform these tests.
Only a few laboratories in the world are able to do this to the tune of $1500-$2000
per test. Most AOVETS are BROKE!! Their wives work to support the family and
the tension. Then their kids ....

Below are some links I have found that deal with this subject. Please check them out. I will be adding more information to this page as time goes on. Please check back often.
